The solicitor will confirm your identity where that's required, then go through the document with you.

They'll explain the obligations you're taking on, the main legal and financial risks and what could happen if the borrowing isn't repaid.

You can ask anything. That's the point of the appointment.

How long it takes depends on the documents and your circumstances. Some are short. Some take longer because there's more to go through.
